Türk Telekom announces Voice for Books application

The content of the Telephone Library, Turkey’s first audiobook service on the phone, implemented by Türk Telekom for the visually impaired, is enriched with the Voice to Books application. With the Voice to Books application, more than 40 thousand volunteers became the voice of books reaching the visually impaired.

Works performed through the application 43 thousand 500 hours and 755 thousand pages of books in different genres reached.

Türk Telekom Removes Sound Barriers to Books

According to the data shared due to April 17 Book Gift Day; Over 40 thousand volunteers have sung a total of 755 thousand pages of books in 43 thousand 500 hours through the application.

Volunteers gave a voice to many types of books such as story, novel, history, psychology and personal development thanks to the Voice for Books application, which Türk Telekom put into service with the cooperation of Boğaziçi University Technology and Education Laboratory for the Visually Impaired, enabling visually impaired book lovers to access a richer archive. .

Anyone who wants to contribute to the Telephone Library and GETEM e-Library voluntarily so that the visually impaired have access to more books and information, is the Voice for Books developed by Türk Telekom. By downloading the application to their phones for free, they can easily sing books.

Visually impaired people, on the other hand, can listen to any book they want by accessing thousands of books voiced by volunteers through Türk Telekom Telephone Library.
