Transport Minister Wissing and RWE CEO Krebber at the Handelsblatt Energy Summit

Dusseldorf The announcements of the new federal government in terms of energy transition are big: By 2030, the traffic light wants to get out of coal – eight years earlier than previously planned. By then there should be 80 instead of 60 percent renewable energies, through an expansion to 200 gigawatts of solar energy and 30 gigawatts of offshore wind power. Approvals should be granted more quickly in all areas than before.

Many business representatives are happy about the tightened climate rescue course. But from now on it is up to politics and business to implement the ambitious plans. A huge challenge – but also a huge opportunity for many companies.

In 2022, the Handelsblatt Energy Summit will also offer an independent platform where we will bring together the key players from politics, energy, business and start-ups. Be there live at the start when Handelsblatt editor-in-chief Sebastian Matthes talks to Federal Transport Minister Volker Wissing about the turnaround in traffic and plans for e-mobility and Kathrin Witsch, head of the energy team, discusses with RWE CEO Markus Krebber.

More information and tickets for the Hybrid Energy Summit, which runs until Wednesday 19 January, can be found here.
