Berlin Equal Katharina Dröge put 16 tweets on Twitter on Tuesday evening away. In it, the leader of the Greens group listed all the relief for citizens that will come into force on Wednesday. As of June 1, housing benefit recipients will receive a heating subsidy of 270 euros, energy taxes on fuel will be reduced for three months and the 9-euro ticket for local public transport has been valid since Wednesday.

In further Twitter messages followed all the measures that the traffic light coalition had launched and which will now reach the citizens. “Not so easy to keep track of things,” Dröge introduced her list. The relief adds up to more than 30 billion euros.

But while the first measures are taking effect, the traffic light coalition is already collecting new ideas on how the state can still help citizens in view of the high energy prices. SPD, Greens and FDP are under political pressure to do more.
