Berlin The new federal government wants to create 176 new jobs, many of them highly paid. This emerges from a letter from the Federal Ministry of Finance to the budget committee of the Bundestag, which is available to the Handelsblatt.

The new Federal Minister for Economic Affairs and Climate Protection, Robert Habeck, wants to build up (Greens) staff the most. He alone is planning 28 new positions in his department.

Federal Chancellor Olaf Scholz (SPD) also wants to significantly expand the Federal Chancellery and provides for 21 new positions. The new Federal Health Minister Karl Lauterbach (SPD) also needs more employees: He is asking for eleven new jobs. A total of 95 new employees are planned for the newly created Federal Ministry for Housing and Building.

The positions are “absolutely necessary to ensure the ability of the new federal government to work,” says the draft. With the coalition agreement, additional priorities and changed work structures were agreed.
