What Do We Know About the Axelar (AXL) Altcoin?
In the whitepaper they shared, Axelar developers describe their altcoin ecosystems as follows:
“The Axelar network consists of a decentralized network that bridges multilingual-speaking blockchain ecosystems and a suite of protocols with APIs that make it easy for applications to make cross-chain requests.
The network connects existing independent blockchains such as Bitcoin, Stellar, Terra, Algorand and interoperability centers such as Cosmos, Avalanche, Ethereum and Polkadot-like solutions.
Our mission is to enable application developers to more easily build such applications using a universal protocol and API without rolling out their own custom cross-chain protocols or rewriting applications as new bridges are developed. Accordingly, we have designed a protocol suite that includes Cross-Chain Gateway Protocol and Cross-Chain Transfer Protocol.
One of the key components of the network is decentralized protocols. Validators collectively protect the Axelar network and run nodes that secure the Axelar blockchain. They are selected by users through a delegation process.
Verifiers receive voting power proportional to the stake delegated to them. Validators provide consensus on the state of multiple blockchains on which the platform is connected. The blockchain is responsible for maintaining and running cross-chain routing and transport protocols.
Governing rules allow network participants to enact protocol decisions, such as which blockchains to bridge and which assets to support. The Axelar blockchain follows a Delegated Proof-of-Stake (DPoS) model similar to Cosmos Hub.”
