This Platform On Ethereum Claimed To Be Blocked By FTX: CEO Responds!

Ethereum Aztec Network, a privacy-enhancing smart contract platform on cryptocurrency He spoke about the allegation that one of its exchanges, FTX, “freezes” the accounts of customers using their services.

Accounts Interfering with Aztec Network on Ethereum Allegedly Blocked by FTX

In the statement made on the official Twitter account of the platform, it was said:

“We are aware of reports that FTX has warned users not to interact with Aztec.”

The platform said it has already taken measures to prevent users who may engage in illegal activities from using its services.

Chinese journalist Colin Wu reports that FTX has frozen the account of one of its customers who sent money to Aztec Network address. Wu tweeted that Aztec has been “designated as a mixing service” by FTX, and the exchange is advising its clients to avoid using the service.

The warning comes just after the US government controversially banned Ethereum mixing service Tornado Cash.

Last week, the US Treasury Department sanctioned this protocol and several associated wallet addresses, effectively banning US residents and companies from using this tool.

This move has had far-reaching effects on the cryptocurrency industry, with some companies and projects taking preventative measures to stay away from these tools, which make it difficult to trace the source of funds.

FTX CEO Sam Bankman-Fried Says Blocking Allegations Are Distorted

Aztec says it has already implemented changes to curb money laundering, such as slowing deposit and withdrawal speeds and making it easier to identify addresses at risk.

“We will not remain passive in stopping illegal behavior,” the platform tweeted. The project also said it reached out to FTX on Twitter and is committed to “continuing conversations with global regulators, central exchanges and consumers.”

While FTX has yet to make an official statement, FTX CEO Sam Bankman-Fried responded to the backlash on Twitter, claiming that the reports of accounts being frozen were “distorted”.
