Berlin In the dispute over industrial electricity prices, the federal government has found a way to remove a central hurdle. The Handelsblatt had already reported on Monday that the Chancellery was prepared to pay a subsidized electricity price from the Climate and Transformation Fund (KTF).
The Federal Ministry of Economics now also accepts the fund as a financing solution. Several government members confirmed this to the Handelsblatt. The KTF could also change the mind of the Federal Ministry of Finance, which has so far rejected an industrial electricity price. “This is the only way Lindner will be convinced,” says a member of the government.
At the same time, according to Handelsblatt information, there is enough scope in the fund for an industrial electricity price. This year, due to administrative bottlenecks, only 50 to 60 percent of the planned expenditure of 36 billion euros is expected to flow out.
