Frankfurt Rolf Buch failed twice, and on the third attempt, the Vonovia boss succeeded in taking over Deutsche Wohnen. Since this week there is certainty that the Bochum Dax group has brought the smaller rival from Berlin under its control – and a new XXL landlord can emerge.

Vonovia exceeded the threshold of 50 percent plus one share and secured 50.49 percent of the number two shares in the German market among private real estate groups, as the company announced on Monday. Since the takeover period for the Berlin Dax group is still running, many investors have to ask themselves again how they position themselves.
