san francisco Mark Zuckerberg has rarely restructured the management of the Facebook group Meta since it was founded 18 years ago. The CEO is using the departure of top manager Sheryl Sandberg to redistribute many top positions.
The areas of human resources and legal, which Sandberg had headed, will report directly to Zuckerberg. Meta is also reorganizing the development of artificial intelligence. The AI researcher and head of the Meta AI division, Jérôme Pesenti, is leaving the company. Meta announced this on Thursday.
With the reorganization, Mark Zuckerberg is primarily strengthening his own position in the company. In the future, the eight top managers from all central parts of the company will report directly to the CEO.
“When Sheryl came to me in 2008, I was only 23 and knew very little about running a business,” says Zuckerberg. Now it is time to set up the company differently.
