This is how you become a top manager at a unicorn

Dusseldorf The average top manager in Germany’s most important start-ups is male, studied at the Technical University of Munich or at the WHU – Otto Beisheim School of Management and has already worked for one of the large management consultancies or investment banks.

This is suggested by an analysis of 127 CVs by the innovation consultancy Digital8.ai, which is exclusively available to the Handelsblatt. The company looked at the executive floors of the 24 most valuable German start-ups, the so-called unicorns. This is the name given to young companies that have passed the one billion US dollar mark in the valuation.

The evaluation provides information about what it takes to advance to top management in fast-growing companies.

The fact is: Germany’s unicorns are currently looking for fresh staff. Overall, the 24 most valuable young companies in the country have advertised a good 2,300 jobs, according to the Indeed job exchange.
