Berlin The Federal Ministry of Economics and Technology believes that the nationalized companies Uniper and Sefe will continue to play a key role in Germany’s energy supply. The ministry of Minister Robert Habeck (Greens) is currently dealing with the question of which tasks the two companies should devote themselves to in the future. The proposals for action are based on talks that the Secretary of State for Economic Affairs, Patrick Graichen and Udo Philipp, held together with the CEOs of both companies and consultants from the Boston Consulting Group (BCG) in December. BCG summarized the essence of the conversations for the participants in the paper.

The federal government nationalized the companies Uniper and Sefe, formerly known as Gazprom Germania, last year. Both companies were threatened with bankruptcy.
