Frankfurt Let’s start the year with optimism – at least as far as plastic waste is concerned. In the future depot, we have added the company Carbios to the portfolio. Because we at Acatis Investment are convinced that there can also be a world with plastic. Namely through biotechnology companies like Carbios.

The French company uses genetic engineering to develop in-house enzymes that break down PET bottles and textile waste into their basic components (monomers) in order to reuse them for the production of 100 percent recycled and recyclable PET.

We took a closer look at how the technology works. On December 6th, Acatis Investment’s portfolio management flew to Clermont-Ferrand, where Carbios opened its doors to us.
