As previously reported by KoinFinans, Lugano is the largest cryptocurrency Bitcoin (BTC)the leading stablecoin Tether (USDT) and the city LVGA Points declared its token as the “de facto” national currency.
Lugano residents with a population of 62 thousand will now be able to pay taxes using the cryptocurrencies mentioned above. Once the city establishes the technological infrastructure, it will soon be possible to use cryptocurrencies for a wide variety of goods and services.
Lugano seems to follow in the footsteps of El Salvador, which last year recognized Bitcoin as a legitimate form of payment. But instead of Lugano, who chose Polygon on this issue, El Salvador is currently developing its blockchain infrastructure with the help of Algorand to help build the infrastructure.
Polygon announces another partnership with Spanish telecom giant
Telefónica Tech, the digital transformation branch of a Spanish telecom giant, is joining forces with Polygon to offer Web3-based solutions to its commercial customers, according to an official blog post.
According to the agreement, which was launched at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, Polygon’s network and tools will be used to provide businesses with a quick and easy way to integrate blockchain technology into their businesses. As a result of the collaboration, Telefónica Tech’s managed blockchain platform TrustOS hopes to take advantage of its advanced traceability, tokenization and certificate capabilities.
