Hamburg There can be many reasons why young people decide to go to university. One of them: the reputation of teaching. A good final grade is no guarantee for later professional success. However, depending on the industry and research direction, employers also look at the alma mater of applicants.

The market research institute Trendence and the French personnel consultancy Emerging examine which universities are particularly popular every year. For their current ranking, they asked almost 10,000 HR professionals from 24 countries how they rate the academic quality, subject specialization or the internationality of teaching at 1,000 universities worldwide. Around 700 of the participating personnel managers came from Germany.

Seven German universities made it into the top 100 in the world – five of them are in Munich or Berlin alone. You can read here which national and international universities are also very popular with German and foreign employers.
