“Many a question in an interview may seem harmless at first glance, but it’s quite a challenge,” says the application expert.

Dusseldorf CEO trainer Jürn-F warns that anyone who is asked about their greatest strengths in a job interview may involuntarily present a major weakness. conitzer “Phrases like ‘I’m assertive’ are heard all the time by personnel managers and superiors.” A candidate doesn’t score with this, but rather puts off the other person. The CEO trainer has accompanied more than 400 executives in their professional reorientation.

“Many a question seems harmless at first glance, but it’s really something,” says Konitzer. For the Handelsblatt, the managing director of the Düsseldorf-based Konitzer & Tafel management consultancy put together some questions that are often underestimated and explains why they lead applicants onto slippery terrain. In addition, he gives instructions for convincing answers. “It is clear that every job interview is different and has to be mastered individually.” But how can an applicant stand out positively from the competition when they are asked about their strengths?
