These 20 tech trends will shape the year 2022

The Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas is considered the most important preview of the defining technology trends of the new year. But because of the pandemic, the CES will only take place in a slimmed-down version this year. The head of marketing at the chip manufacturer Qualcomm, Don McGuire, who was one of the few managers to appear in person in Las Vegas, was nevertheless able to see some positive aspects of the pandemic in his lecture.

Because even if many branches of the economy had suffered severely from the pandemic, technological progress in many areas of society has taken place simultaneously at a breathtaking pace, said McGuire. “In the past 18 months, we as a society have gone through developments that would otherwise have taken several years,” he concluded.
