Berlin Hesse’s Economics Minister and Green Party leading candidate Tarek Al-Wazir has called on the federal government to provide more support to industrial companies in view of high energy costs. “In Hesse, too, we have large companies that have locations in the USA and Japan, can relocate their production very easily and are also specifically thinking about it,” Al-Wazir told the Handelsblatt.

“That’s why I’m in favor of a bridge electricity price.” This is a capped electricity price that should primarily apply to energy-intensive industrial companies and is being discussed in the traffic light government under the term industrial electricity price. “I assume that the direction will be clear at the Prime Minister’s Conference at the end of October at the latest,” said Al-Wazir. “The states have an important say in this.”

At the same time, he called on the federal government to resolve the disputes of the past few months. “There can’t be a circus like this anymore,” said Al-Wazir. The coalition “must regain trust.”
