The “miracle weapon” that brings hope to Ukraine

Bayraktar and Erdogan

President Erdoğan’s son-in-law has built an effective drone.

A gray, somewhat misshapen object, about the length and width of a pickup truck. The tail unit forms a kind of triangle, the wings seem overproportioned. The stretched body sits on a chassis that seems better off on a shopping cart. This device, it looks like an oversized toy from the local model airfield.

This is probably the most famous drone in the world, the Bayraktar TB2. A Turkish-made unmanned combat drone that was hailed as groundbreaking just in the first weeks of Russia’s war of aggression in Ukraine. As a miracle weapon that enables the defenders to achieve successes that few experts would have thought possible before the war. With their help, Russian convoys were destroyed from the air, supplies, tank trucks, tanks, artillery.
