“The Masked Singer” moved to tears on Saturday evening, because there has never been such an exposure – neither in the German edition nor in any other “Masked Singer” country.
This time it was about the selection for the semifinals in the next week, and the masked celebrities gave everything again. This time presenter Thore Schölermann (37) was present as a guest juror, who even brought his binoculars with him for better detective work.
The phoenix in particular caused highly emotional moments again this time. His version of “Somewhere over the rainbow” and “Wonderful world” touched the jury deeply. Ruth Moschner (45) raved: “The voice is so beautiful, so special. It has to be someone sitting on something that is being controlled. At first glance you think it could be Samuel Koch. But maybe it’s Smudo too, he also likes to try out new technologies. “
Rea Garvey guessed his friend and actor Jan Josef Liefers (57). Thore Schölermann, however, came up with very crazy ideas: “There has never been a politician here.” He had identified a yellow amulet as an indication: “FDP, Christian Lindner. So then he really touched me for the first time. “
The phoenix then became a wobbly candidate – and had to perform a second song. After “I can” by rapper Nas, the audience in particular was sure that actor Samuel Koch (34) was in the phoenix. As is well known, he has been in a wheelchair since his accident at “Wetten, dass …” in 2010 and is paralyzed from the neck down.
A candidate with a disability – that has never been seen before at “The Masked Singer” anywhere in the world. Rea Garvey, however, still imagined his friend Jan Josef Liefers under the costume – Ruth Moschner now even guessed tennis star Boris Becker (53).
At the end of the evening it was clear: The “Masked Singer” excursion is over for the Phoenix. But he didn’t remove his head himself – two security men did it for him. And shortly afterwards it was clear why: In fact, Samuel Koch was wearing a pompous costume. BILD had already revealed this in advance.
