The logistics group Hellmann is the victim of a cyber attack

Düsseldorf, Osnabrück At the Osnabrück headquarters of the Hellmann logistics company, there is usually a lot of loading and unloading of trucks. Otherwise, thousands of containers with goods arrive at the transshipment center and are reassembled. For a few days, however, the movement of goods has been severely restricted.

Hellmann has been the target of a cyber attack, the company confirms. All connections to the data center have been cut as a precaution to prevent the outflow of data and manipulation.

The interruption has a significant impact on business operations. The telephone infrastructure is also affected, employees should only be contacted by cell phone, as it says on the company website.

The company, which generated sales of around 2.5 billion euros in 2020, cannot yet say how severe the effects are. The group cannot rule out the possibility of data leaks or unauthorized use of data. It is said to be a targeted attack from China, says an insider.
