HBO announced the leading actors of The Hedge Knight, a new spinoff series set in the Game of Thrones universe. Following Game of Thrones and House of the Dragon, this series will be the third production in George RR Martin’s fictional universe and will take place a hundred years before Game of Thrones.
Lead roles in Game of Thrones spinoff series The Hedge Knight announced
In the statement made today, it was stated that Peter Claffey and Dexter Sol Ansell will play the roles of Dunk and Egg.
According to HBO’s statement, the series will tell the story of the young and brave knight Ser Duncan the Tall (Claffey) and his servant Egg (Ansell). The story takes place during a time when the Targaryen dynasty was still on the Iron Throne and the last dragon still existed.
The Hedge Knight is George RR Martin’s first novel in the A Song of Fire and Ice series and Martin’s first foray into this fictional universe. The series is about characters and events different from its main characters.
Claffey and Ansell, the leading actors of the series, have previously appeared in popular productions. Claffey is a former professional rugby player who has appeared in productions such as Bad Sisters and Wreck. Ansell has previously appeared in productions such as The Midwich Cuckoos and The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes.
