Dusseldorf The pull is irresistible – people are drawn to cities all over the world. There they hope for better jobs, education and infrastructure. The development is driven by the emerging countries of Asia and South America.

In less than 30 years, more than two thirds of the world’s population will be living in large cities, and even more in Germany – despite all the longings of many for a life in the country.

Tokyo is still at the top of the mega-cities – but it is only a matter of time before Delhi or Shanghai replace the Japanese capital as the largest city in the world.
