Berlin Since Friday noon, the federal and state governments have been discussing new corona measures, while the Omikron wave continues to pile up. A draft resolution provides for a nationwide 2G-Plus rule with which those who have recovered and who have been vaccinated need a test for large parts of public life. Exceptions apply to those who have been vaccinated. On this point, the negotiators are said to have already agreed, the Handelsblatt learned from participants. In addition, the quarantine is to be shortened in order to prevent a shortage of staff, especially in critical facilities, when the number of infections is high.

Experts and the federal states led by the Union believe that stricter measures are necessary. In a specially prepared paper, the states led by the CDU and CSU demand that the federal government re-establish the epidemic situation, which can serve as a legal basis for stricter contact restrictions such as business and school closings.
