Berlin In view of the spreading Omikron variant, the federal and state governments have agreed on further corona measures. The decision provides for a nationwide 2G-Plus rule in the catering industry, with which those who have recovered and those who have been vaccinated twice need a test.

In addition, the group with Chancellor Olaf Scholz (SPD) and the 16 Prime Ministers agreed on a shorter quarantine. If the number of infections is high, it should avoid a lack of staff, especially in critical facilities.

“We have to prepare for the fact that the number of infections will increase,” said Scholz on Friday afternoon. He could not give the all-clear for the health system. The most important means against the pandemic remains the vaccination, there will be quick consultations in the Bundestag on a general vaccination requirement. The 16 federal states have committed themselves to this.

The rules that have been adopted are also “strict” but appropriate. Further contact restrictions will still “need to be talked about”. Scholz also highlighted the extended Corona aid for the economy. The most important resolutions at a glance:
