The domestic fighter jet started the engine! (Video)

Domestic fighter aircraft development programs continue at full speed. Finally, the first images for the National Combat Aircraft were shared last month. Then, the jet-powered domestic and manned warplane named Hürjet came out of the hangar. Started the engine for the first time today. Here are the Hürjet features, first flight and inventory entry date…

Hürjet, the engine started!

Turkey has the largest and strongest army in its region. However, this situation causes their needs to be equally large. Moreover, the fact that it was excluded from programs such as the F-35 and its exposure to various embargoes increased the burden on the defense industry.

The expected step has come for the fifth generation jet fighter, the National Combat Aircraft (MMU), or Hürjet, which is the predecessor of TFX as it is known abroad. The jet, whose assembly phase was completed and removed from the hangar a while ago, started the engine for the first time.

There are successive developments for the National Combat Aircraft. Finally, the MMU, whose fuselage assembly was completed, was seen on the landing gear today.

Although this aircraft is designed for training purposes in terms of its class, it will have state-of-the-art equipment. In fact, when we take a closer look at the cockpit, we see that it resembles 5th generation aircraft such as the F-35.

The biggest reason for this is that Turkey has been able to transfer the gains it has gained from its long-term partnerships. Because many parts of the F-35, from its touch screens to its body, were produced locally. Now we see that this accumulation is used in Hürjet and MMU.
