After the earthquakes in Kahramanmaraş, education was suspended with the decision of the Ministry of National Education. With the last statement of Minister Mahmut Özer, the date of reopening of schools became clear. Minister Özer said, “Education has been suspended in 10 provinces until 1 March, and education starts in 71 provinces on 20 February”.

The Minister of National Education also stated that schools in the earthquake zone will be closed until March 1. However, he stated that this date may be delayed further depending on the situation and may not be opened on March 1. “We can postpone the date of March 1, but we announced that we have suspended education in 10 provinces until March 1. We have not announced that we will start on March 1st. We announced that we are taking a break until March 1,” he said.

In addition to the statement of the Minister of National Education, the Higher Education Council (YÖK) has not yet received any new information regarding universities.
