The country’s economic prospects are bleak

Vienna Six months ago, Russian troops invaded Ukraine and the Kremlin launched its war of aggression against the neighboring country. But the Ukrainians’ will to fight is unbroken to this day.

“We are ready to win this war,” says Pavlo Moroz, who is responsible for relations with the government at the agricultural group MHP. Ukraine will win back the occupied parts of the country, not in the coming weeks, but in the medium term. He is convinced of that.

The company, like other companies and private individuals, supports the army financially. Around 20 billion hryvnia, the equivalent of around 545 million euros, have been collected in this way since February in a collective account for the army at the National Bank of Ukraine (NBU).

Moroz’s will to persevere is fueled by the fact that Ukraine, which is often perceived as a weak state, has not yet collapsed – neither militarily nor economically.
