He did only moderately well in many exams, failed at simple arithmetic problems and unabashedly cheated when he didn’t know the correct answer. Just a few months later, he’s at the forefront of the student science olympiads, passes entrance exams for a variety of bachelor’s and master’s degrees, and makes it into the top 10 percent of the national bar exam for US attorneys. He can now also handle the quantitative task part of the GRE (Graduate Record Examination), which many business schools require as proof of qualification. An amazing learning curve – even for an algorithm.
