In the first quarter of 2023, Samsung became the best-selling smartphone brand on a unit basis. The company, which sells exactly 60.3 million devices, managed to reach the top with a 22 percent market share, although it contracted by 18 percent annually.
Right behind it is Apple, which is the only company among the top sellers to achieve annual growth (3 percent). According to the data, it sells 58 million iPhones in 3 months and keeps a close eye on Samsung with a 21 percent market share.
Unexpected exit from Huawei: Apple is at the top again!
Losing its market share due to the US embargoes, Huawei has become one of the best-selling smartphone brands with an unexpected exit.
Xiaomi ranks third on the list. We see that the company, which has contracted by 22 percent, has reached an 11 percent market share with 30.5 million sales and has sold almost half as many devices as its Korean competitor.
It is followed by Oppo with 26.6 million and Vivo with 20.9 million. The market share of these companies is at the level of 8 percent with a shrinkage of 8 percent, 10 percent and 17 percent, respectively. Therefore, when we look at the general picture, the total sales data of up to 270 million shows that the market has contracted by 13 percent compared to the previous year.
