Automotive Distributors and Mobility Association (ODMD) announced the sales figures after we left behind the month of March, which is the end of every month. The list is based on brand new cars sold only. The figures for the list of best-selling cars on the basis of brands are at a record level compared to last year. In March 2023, a total of 79 thousand 226 brand new cars were sold. This figure represents an increase of 57.91 percent compared to March last year.
In addition, when we look at the total automobile sales in the first 3 months of both years, namely January, February and March, there is a significant increase. The total sales of new cars in the first 3 months of 2023 is about 100 thousand more than the sales in 2022. 1-Fiat
Fiat entered the list as the best-selling automobile brand in Turkey in March 2023. Fiat, which sold 14 thousand 720 units in March 2023, increased its sales amount by 10 thousand units compared to March of last year. We can say that affordable models such as Fiat Egea played a role in this sales lead.
2-Renault
With the production of Clio and Megane 4 by KARSAN at the OYAK Renault factory, Reanult, accepted from Bursa, took the second place in the list. Renault, which sold 6 thousand 947 cars, decreased its sales amount by 3 thousand compared to March last year. Clio has a large share in this sales volume.
3-Volkswagen
It can be said that a surprising brand entered the 3rd place of the list. Volkswagen, whose sales figures are expected to decrease with the removal of the Passat Sedan, which is very popular in Turkey, took the 3rd place in the list with sales of 6 thousand 176 units. Volkswagen increased its sales by a thousand units compared to March 2022.
4-Opel
There is a brand that has just entered the top 5 of our list compared to last year. This year, Opel moved its name forward by 2 places compared to the March list of last year, thanks to the attacks it made especially with the new Corsa and Mokka. Opel, which sold 4 thousand 706 units in March this year, increased its sales by 2 thousand units compared to last year. That’s an almost 100% increase.
5-Hyundai
The 5th and last guest of our list is the Korean manufacturer Hyundai. Having made a name for itself with its electric breakthrough recently, Hyundai took the 5th place of the list with a sales of 4 thousand 537 units. We can say that Hyundai, like Opel, increased its sales by 2 thousand units and achieved an increase of almost 100 percent.
