Le Bourget Airbus boss Guillaume Faury puts pressure on his suppliers: “We have difficulties with some suppliers,” he said in an interview with the Handelsblatt.

Background: The order situation at Airbus is dazzling. At the Paris Air Show in Bourget, the European aircraft manufacturer announced, among other things, a large order for 500 aircraft from an Indian customer. But production is falling short of targets – and that, according to Faury, is due to the supply chain.

The suppliers would also have to adapt in order to be able to cope with the upcoming major upheavals such as decarbonization, said the Airbus boss: “Because in five, six, seven years the cards will be reshuffled. Then it will be decided who will help shape the platforms in civil aviation for the coming decades.” Faury sees further potential for suppliers from Germany in particular, comments on the future of the armaments sector and has a clear opinion on air taxis.
