Dusseldorf Considerations are in full swing in German energy companies: How can oil from Russia be replaced? Not overnight, is the unanimous answer. Nevertheless, the companies have to adjust to this situation.

On Tuesday, the US announced that it would stop importing Russian energy supplies. The oil companies Shell and BP will also not buy any gas or oil from Russia in the future. Shell warned that production could be reduced in some refineries.

However, because Russia is one of the largest oil producers in the world, this decision massively restricts the corporations in their business. Shell has therefore no longer offered any additional products wholesale in Germany since Monday. From now on, only those who have a fixed contract will be supplied. However, Shell emphasizes that the supply is still guaranteed.
