In addition, the federal government also fully compensates for inflation-related tax increases, also known as “cold progression”.
The bottom line is that there is a lot of relief for the individual taxpayer. This is shown by calculations by the finance scientist Frank Hechtner from the University of Erlangen-Nuremberg, which are available to the Handelsblatt. These already show how much money families with two children or single people, for example, will save each year depending on their income.
