Dusseldorf Tesla has launched a new vehicle. The electric four-wheel drive vehicle with two seats only manages 16 kilometers per hour, in reverse it comes to 8 km / h. Children from eight years of age can roar through the area with the “Cyberquad for Kids”. The battery has a range of up to 25 kilometers, but a full charge can take five hours.

The Cyberquad was supposed to be the little brother of the Cybertruck, the futuristically designed pick-up from Tesla. As early as 2019, CEO Elon Musk presented the vehicle, which, with its unusual appearance, is based on the Lotus Esprit S1. The classic sports car from 1976 was made famous by the James Bond film “The Spy Who Loved Me”.

The Cyberquad is optically based on this, with futuristic flashing LED displays and large triangles. Musk presented the 60 kilogram vehicle as a kind of accessory for the cybertruck.

You should be able to put it on the loading area and also be able to charge it there. The slimmed-down Cyberquad for kids has been available from Tesla in the United States for $ 1900 since Wednesday and the delivery time should be two to four weeks.

However, like the full-fledged Cyberquad, the Cybertruck itself is still not available. The pick-up should already be on the market this year, after several postponements the talk is now from the end of 2022.

Competition for the cybertruck is increasing

Tesla is missing an important market. Pick-ups are the top-selling vehicle in the United States. Ford’s F-150 has led the sales statistics for decades. The US carmaker presented an electric version months ago, which will be available to buy from spring 2022. The pre-orders for the F-150 Lighting are going through the roof and are currently 160,000 pieces.

However, many more buyers are interested in the Cybertruck. At the presentation in 2019, Tesla spoke of 219,000 pre-orders, since then there have been no official figures.

Crowdsourcing websites estimate that there will be more than 1.2 million orders. However, the down payment is only $ 100, as opposed to the $ 1,000 that had previously been placed on the table for the Model 3 and other Tesla vehicles.

Cybertruck with Cyberquad

The Cyberquad all-wheel-drive vehicle is now coming onto the market; you have to wait at least a year for the pick-up.

The long wait should be on the nerves of the customers. In addition, it is not only Ford that is faster on the market. The start-up Rivian has been selling its electric R1T pick-up for a few weeks.

The Cyberquad isn’t Tesla’s only by-product for the Cybertruck. CEO Elon Musk also brought the Cyberwhistle onto the market. The whistle has the same large-area design, costs a whopping 50 dollars and was sold out within minutes.

Musk’s advertising on Twitter made an impact. There he made fun of Apple’s newest accessory, a $ 19 cleaning cloth. “Don’t waste your money on the silly Apple cloth, buy our pipe instead!”
