Model Ys brought by Tesla for delivery to its customers in Turkey are allegedly stuck at customs. As a result, vehicle deliveries are delayed. Moreover, there are striking claims about the reasons for this delay.
The electric car company that officially entered Turkey in April about Tesla A claim that would fall like a bomb on the agenda came to the agenda. According to the claim brought up by journalist Emre Özpeynirci, Tesla’s Model Ys in Turkey were stuck at customs. As such, the company cannot make vehicle deliveries.
The events occurred when consumers who bought Tesla Model Y shared their problems with Özpeynirci. In fact, Tesla sent a message to its customers. screenshot also available. Let’s take a closer look at the confusing claim.
Problems began to be experienced first in customs and then in SCT payments.
“Thousands of Tesla Model Y, brought to Turkey for delivery, were viewed like this in Kocaeli recently…”
Emre Özpeynirci’s Twitter account according to the description Tesla as of May more than 1000 vehicle delivered. However, in the last few weeks, problems started to occur. Özpeynirci said that the company first had problems with customs clearance and the process was delayed due to “systemic problems”, this time after the customs procedures were completed. Stuck in SCT payments says. According to the statement, Tesla has not been able to pay the excise tax on the vehicles it has sold since Monday. Actually it does, but the system does not accept it.
What happened is not just that. Özpeynirci said that Tesla had come into contact with the authorities many times on the subject, but in no way. no solution found tells. As such, around 500 Model Ys, for which SCT payment was made but not accepted, remained at the customs. According to Emre Özpeynirci, Tesla wanted to deliver these vehicles before the holiday. But deliveries unfortunately It was until July and around 500 Tesla Model Y owners became victims..
Emre Özpeynirci’s post on Twitter:
Are Tesla deliveries blocked!?
Why were 500 people victimized before the holiday!?
In the last 3-4 days, many messages and e-mails have been received from those who have suffered because of Tesla’s inability to deliver in Turkey.
After all, we have a 9-day holiday and people have not been able to get their vehicles despite paying for it.
So, What is the problem;
First of all, I learned that Tesla, which has delivered more than 1000 vehicles in Turkey since the beginning of May, has been experiencing serious bureaucratic problems for the last 1-2 weeks and could not make the deliveries planned before the holiday.
In the past weeks, there were ‘systemic’ problems at the customs and customs procedures slowed down. That’s why it took a long time to clear the vehicles from customs.
On Friday evening, this time, the problem started in SCT payments and as of Monday, the system started not to approve SCT payments.
As you know, SCT payment approval is required for the registration of vehicles. Otherwise, the vehicles cannot be delivered. For this reason, Tesla had to delay the deliveries of its customers until the problem is resolved.
Despite constant discussions with the authorities, a solution could not be reached.
As a result, I learned that there are about 1000 vehicles at the customs at the moment, of which the excise duty of 500 of them has been paid and they are normally planned to be delivered by the Saturday before the holiday. However, due to bureaucratic obstacles, nearly 500 people have been victimized before the feast.
Since the next 9 days are a holiday, it seems that the earliest deliveries will be made in July.
I have not had a similar problem with other brands. Hopefully this isn’t just a Tesla specific blocking.

So why is this happening?
Emre Özpeynirci shared a message that reached him regarding the events. Look what the person who says he is dealing with this business says:
90% of the vehicles imported to our country are imported from Kocaeli Region. As you know, all imported vehicles are controlled by TSE during customs clearance.
It is possible to import after TSE control. Now, let me explain why all the other brands, including TESLA, are left behind on Eid;
All TSE transactions are carried out through a software called TSE360. This software has been paralyzed for the past 20 days. It didn’t work for a week. Import files could not be closed, ports and warehouses were full. Full ships anchored in the open.
You really need to see it.
I enter these areas every day and check vehicles with TSE. Because of this, people suffered. Simultaneously, there is a shortage of personnel in Kocaeli TSE. Imports exploded.
Output numbers from 70-80 files to 200-250 files per day. When this situation combined with the TSE360 software, chaos ensued.
Ankara headquarters is still incapable of sending personnel. All distributors have stood up for these reasons. I hope it gets resolved.
In other words, as you stated in your article, it is not the customs system, but the TSE system-related problem. We would be grateful if you could raise the ongoing issue regarding the TSE360 system.
