Tesla cars will bear the signature of Samsung!

The boundaries of the automotive and technology field are disappearing day by day. Automobiles have become almost technology centers with their features. Automakers who want to better manage this process establish partnerships with technology companies. An important step in this direction came from Tesla and Samsung.

Tesla cars can carry Samsung signature

Samsung Chairman Lee Jae-yong recently met with Tesla’s CEO Elon Mosk. There were significant developments regarding the meeting held on the production of automobile processors.

According to the information received, Tesla is looking for a chip supplier for the FSD (Full Autonomous Driving) technology in its vehicles to be produced from now on. In this regard, it is stated that the most ambitious candidate is Samsung. If an agreement is reached between the two companies, Samsung will produce the processors of Tesla-branded cars. The design of these processors will belong to Tesla.

There is already a lot of cooperation between Tesla and Samsung. As of now, the Korean tech giant provides Tesla with batteries, Exynos Auto processors and camera sensors. In fact, 14nm chips are produced for the American automaker at Samsung’s foundry in Texas. However, with the new agreement, the two companies will now switch to much more advanced 5nm chips.

After the meeting, there has been no clear statement from the companies yet. It seems that Tesla will evaluate all the options in front of it for processor production. In this regard, Samsung’s biggest rival is TSMC. Although previous reports have described TSMC as Tesla’s new chip supplier, no agreement has yet been reached.
