TECNO shared the curious about the smartphone market on ShiftDelete.Net. In the interview, in which the Turkish market was evaluated in terms of the products in the market and smart phones, the targets were announced about the local production investments made in Turkey.

Can you tell us about the world of TECNO? What kind of brand?
TECNO is a leading and innovative brand in its sector. With our four main product lines, PHANTOM, CAMON, SPARK and POVA, we strive to offer all our consumers the best opportunities provided by technology. We serve TECNO fans and all our customers in more than 70 countries around the world. Can you evaluate the Turkish market in terms of smartphones?
Turkey is a country with important opportunities. Competition in the smartphone market is fierce. It is of great importance to understand the market and to carry out studies that will give the market and therefore the consumers the value they deserve. Consumers want a smartphone with a premium quality camera, a good display, and a long-lasting battery. At the same time, they want to see a reliable brand that invests locally and employs local talent. We are here to provide both of these.
You invested in Turkey for local production. What are your goals here?
The government’s visionary approach and the encouraging investment climate it offered played an important role in our decision to invest in Turkey. We believe in the Turkish economy and we want to be among the strong players in this very valuable market for us. Acting with the strategy of being a permanent player in this market, we create our employment and investment plans accordingly. We are planning to invest in support and service areas as well as production processes in order to increase the experience quality of users in Turkey. With our investment covering the production of CAMON, POVA and SPARK in the middle and upper segments, we will customize and continue to customize our products according to the needs of users in Turkey. We recently launched our new model, the PHANTOM X, which we describe as our flagship and which draws attention with its camera and design features. Our most important goal is to be one of Turkey’s most popular smart device brands with the best products.
Will your production in Turkey proceed only via smartphone? Or do you plan to include other products such as tablets in our country’s market?
As TECNO, we are currently producing some of our smartphone models in Turkey. Also, with the upcoming arrival of 5G, we published our AIoT strategy in 2020 to build an ecosystem of 1+N smart products for customers. Over the next three years, we will offer comprehensive product categories of audio products, smart wearables, smart home products, smart living products and essential accessories. However, there is no decision announced at the moment regarding the production of categories other than smartphones in Turkey.
Which products are on sale now? Which is your most popular product?
We recently launched the PHANTOM X, TECNO’s flagship model. Currently, our CAMON, SPARK and POVA models are on sale as well as PHANTOM X. Before the PHANTOM X, it was really difficult to choose the “most popular” model. Different products meet the needs of different consumer segments. CAMON 16 is a model that stands out with its professional camera. It has an extremely superior design. At SPARK, our main focus is university students and young professionals. It has a highly advanced “mainstream” technology and has a light camera that the target audience will love. At POVA, we focused entirely on technology lovers. A model that provides excellent performance with a long-lasting battery. Our model TECNO CAMON 18, which we launched a short time ago but has not yet arrived in Turkey, will be on sale in Turkey very soon.
