Tokyo, Beijing During its military maneuvers around Taiwan, China has practiced blockading the island with ships and planes. On the third and final day of the exercise, a record number of warplanes and warships were spotted near the island, the Taiwan Ministry of Defense reported.

In the 24 hours to Tuesday morning, 91 aircraft and 12 warships were sighted. 54 planes crossed the previously respected center line in the Taiwan Strait Straits and entered the Taiwan Air Patrol Zone (ADIZ).

China claims Taiwan as part of its own territory. “The troops in this area are constantly ready and ready to fight at any time to resolutely crush any aspirations for Taiwan independence and outside interference,” said the Chinese Army’s East Command, which oversees the East China Sea and the Taiwan Strait.
