After Russia invaded Ukraine, many countries and organizations began to impose sanctions against Russia. Apple is one of the biggest technology companies among them. Announcing that it has made important sanctions in recent days, the CEO of the company, Tim Cook, published an e-mail that he is with his team workers in Ukraine.

In his statement, Apple CEO stated that they are trying to support all members affected by the war situation in the e-mail sent to Ukrainian Apple employees, and that he expects them to contact them if there are Ukrainian team members who are out of the country and need support. Tim Cook’s e-mail published by The Verge includes the following statements.

I know I speak on behalf of all Apple employees when expressing our concerns for all those affected by the violence. With every new image of families fleeing their homes and brave citizens fighting for their lives, we see how important it is for people around the world to come together to advance the cause of peace.

We continue to work with partners to evaluate what we can do more. We recognize that many of our Apple employees are eager to support, and we want to point out that we stand behind them. Starting today, Apple will match ties to eligible organizations at a two-to-one ratio. It will also do this matching for retroactive donations to organizations.

We are working as hard as we can to support our team members across Ukraine and the region. We are in contact with all our aggrieved employees. If you know that we have Ukrainian team members who are abroad and may need support, please contact us.

Tim Cook also announced the sanctions imposed on Russia in his message. Stating that the sale of all Apple products across Russia has been stopped, Cook stated that Apple Pay and other services are also limited. Apple has also limited its Maps service and App Store in Russia.
