Koblenz / Ahrweiler – You can only take your hat off to this sum!

The old cap from flood hero Markus Wipperfürth (50) brought in 1,800 euros at an auction. On Sunday the good piece was auctioned at the Electoral Palace in Koblenz.

And with prominent support. Because “Bares for Rares” star Julian Schmitz-Avila (35) had run the auction. He is pleased with the result: “I’m very happy about the amount – I would not have expected such a high bid for a cap.”

Review: The attempt to auction the cap on Ebay went very wrong. The auction was stopped several times due to incorrect bids, the last highest bid of 80,350 euros also turned out to be a fun bid – the sale did not take place.

Wipperfürth turned to Schmitz-Avila. The farmer, who has been helping flood victims on the Ahr for months, told BILD: “To achieve such a price for such a cap – that’s great. According to Ebay, of course, a different price was assumed. But I said from the start that anything between 500 and 1000 euros would be great. Every cent brings us forward! “

BILD learned: The buyer of the cap is a man from Buxtehude, who has already donated for the helpers on the Ahr.

100 percent of the money goes to the flood victims. Just like the proceeds from the entire auction in Koblenz Castle, where donated items were sold. A total of 85,000 euros were raised. Schmitz-Avila: “I am satisfied and happy that we can help the people affected a little.”
