Subsidies for private e-car charging stations used up

Private wallbox

A total of 800 million euros were in the funding pot.

Frankfurt, Berlin The funding pot for the purchase of a private e-car charging station is empty. “The funding was very successful, the funding has been exhausted. Please do not submit any more applications ”, it says on the website of the responsible credit institution for reconstruction (KfW).

However, ongoing applications are not affected by the stop. Anyone who has already received an application confirmation or will receive it in the next few days will still receive money if the requirements are met.

The subsidy of 900 euros is available for the purchase and installation of a permanently installed private wallbox. This can provide a maximum of 11 kW, must be intelligent and run with green electricity.

A total of 800 million euros were in the funding pot. The program has already been topped up twice – for the last time in July by a further 300 million euros. Financing came from the energy and climate fund. Now the coming federal government has to decide whether there will be a resumption of funding.
