Dusseldorf The year 2022 was a year full of surprises for the stock exchanges – unfortunately few of them were pleasant. Hardly any expert expected such a drastic event as Russia’s terrible war of aggression against Ukraine. As a result, practically no one expected the leading German index, the Dax, to lose twelve percent in value over the year.
By definition, surprises cannot be predicted. But that doesn’t stop the strategists at the major international securities firms from compiling a list of the biggest surprises every year that could shake up the capital markets over the next twelve months.
