We shared our special news about the tax regulation coming to electric cars late last month. We even pointed out that this arrangement may be directly related to Togg. As a matter of fact, President Recep Tayyip Erdogan confirmed this situation. So how much money will Togg be?
Tax regulation targeted Togg!
Togg has been engaged in the construction and installation of facilities for 2 years. At the moment, the paint and body facilities are completed. In addition, the 1.6-kilometer test track with various bumps has been completed. In the assembly facility, it is stated that up to 98 percent has been reached. If there is no disruption in this direction, it is aimed to start mass production in the last quarter of this year.
Last month, a new tax regulation was introduced for electric cars. Accordingly, the new tax rate is 10 percent for electric cars whose engine power does not exceed 160 kW and whose Special Consumption Tax base does not exceed 700 thousand TL, and 40 percent for others.
Togg gave the good news! The countdown has begun
Togg, in his social media post today, said that he will start trial production before mass production.
In addition, it has been decided to apply an SCT of 50 percent if the Special Consumption Tax base does not exceed 750 thousand TL, and 60 percent if it exceeds this amount, for vehicles whose engine power exceeds 160 kW, that is, targets a little more performance and luxury class.
The old excise duty tax rates are as follows:
- Electric vehicles not exceeding 85 kW: 10 percent
- Electric vehicles between 85 kW and 120 kW: 25 percent
- Electric vehicles over 120 kW: 60%
How much money will Togg be?
President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan answered the questions put to him by the journalists in the program he attended on TRT yesterday evening. There was also a question here about the price of Togg or whether there would be an incentive for the tax to be applied.
In response, Erdogan said that incentives were offered for many electric cars, including Togg, by reducing the tax rate to 10 percent for electric cars whose engine power does not exceed 160 kW and whose excise tax base does not exceed 700 thousand TL.
The first SUV model that Togg will offer for sale will have 2 different engine options, 150 kW and 300 kW, rear-wheel drive and four-wheel drive. In this case, Togg’s 150 kW model will have a price of less than 700 thousand TL without SCT.
On this price, first 10 percent SCT, then 18 percent VAT will be applied. Hence the maximum price 908 thousand TL will be. Of course, Togg can also cost this vehicle at a price much less than 700 thousand TL. When we look at the other four-wheel drive version, 50 percent SCT will be applied if it is below 750 thousand TL and 60 percent if it is above.
President Erdoğan did not make a statement on the four-wheel drive version of the Togg. However, just like in the first model, if a fee of 750 thousand TL was determined considering this engine option, the highest 1 million 327 thousand 500 TL will be. Of course, if it is over 750 thousand TL, there will be no peak price limit.
