Work on the earthquake, which affected 10 provinces and millions of our citizens, continues without slowing down. Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change Minister Murat Kurum made a statement about the construction activities in the cities affected by the earthquake.

Making a press release at the Earthquake Coordination Center, the Authority announced that the search and rescue teams pulled another person alive from the rubble. Stating that the loss of life in Gaziantep reached 3,729, the Authority stated that 15,010 people were rescued from the wreckage.

Underlining that the work continues unabated under the leadership of AFAD, the Institution said, “We are working to meet all the needs of our citizens, especially shelter and food, with 23,000 personnel in Gaziantep. Our citizens, who were rescued from the wreckage at the 159th and 170th hours, gave morale to our country. We continue our efforts to meet the housing needs of all our citizens affected by the earthquake. We stand by our citizens with all material and moral assistance, especially with furniture, moving and rental assistance.” said.

The Minister of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change warned the citizens who entered their houses after the earthquake. It also announced the number of damaged buildings.

Stating that a container city was established for earthquake victims in Islahiye and Nurdağı district centers, the Institution said that they provided temporary shelter services to 130,000 people in the center and in the districts. Underlining that they are working in coordination with the metropolitan and district municipalities, the Authority stated that they plan to supply natural gas to all of Gaziantep until Friday.

Making a statement about the infrastructure works, the Institution said, “We have resolved some of the problems related to electricity and water. We provided electricity to 68 villages in Islahiye and 35 villages in Nurdagin. We started to supply natural gas throughout Gaziantep. We continue our efforts to deliver electricity, natural gas and water to many different places, especially public institutions and hospitals.” said.
