Spider-Man 2’s fun bug has been removed from the game

In Spider-Man 2, developed by Insomniac, players mourn the loss of a beloved bug known as “Spider-Cube”. This error, which appeared after long periods of play, caused Miles Morales and Peter Parker to turn into small white cubes while wandering around New York.

This bug was removed from Spider-Man 2 but players want it back

The game initially featured an impressive selection of 72 unlockable cosmetic skins, including iconic outfits like Peter’s Venom-infused symbiote and Miles’ outfit from the Spider-Verse movie.

However, due to Insomniac overlooking the mistake, the accidental inclusion of Spider-Cube became the 73rd fan-favorite costume in Spider-Man 2.

Unfortunately, Spider-Man 2’s latest patch fixed this weird but fun bug, officially removing the Spider-Cube. Insomniac acknowledged the removal of a post on X that included a tombstone emoji next to a white square. This decision disappointed the PlayStation community.

Amid a flood of tributes, players called on Insomniac to embrace the Spider-Cube as a feature rather than a bug, and called for its inclusion in the official in-game outfit list. Some enthusiasts even hope the Cube appears in a future Spider-Verse animated movie.

Additionally, in several posts, people suggested that Insomniac’s attempts to delete Spider-Cube may not have been completely successful, implying that some players may still experience the glitch.
