Shotwell thinks Mars will be talked about more among humans after the landing. Elon Musk also announced in an interview in December last year that people will be on Mars in five years or even ten years at the most. The SpaceX founder signaled the year 2029 last March.
Elon Musk explained that the biggest challenge is to design a vehicle that will be optimized to Mars. He then stated that Starship is the most complex and advanced rocket ever. He also added that living on Mars would be dangerously cramped and difficult.
