An investigation has been launched by the Seoul tax authorities against Hashed, a South Korean-based crypto investment company.
The 4th Investigation Bureau of the Seoul Regional Tax Administration, which is investigating Hashed, deals with tax evasion and fraud cases.
In the portfolio of Hashed, one of the best-known investment companies in South Korea; Axie Infinity, The Sandbox, Terra and Luna projects such as The investment firm said it had raised $200 million in funding for Web 3 projects in the past weeks, in addition to $120 million in December last year.
South Korea last week decided to delay a new capital gains tax on cryptoassets for one year.
Following the development, the investigation was confirmed after The Block’s conversation with the company. The company official said the investigation was not about tax evasion or bribery.
