Some investors are stuck in Russian securities

Frankfurt Investments in Russian securities not only lost massively in value after the sanctions imposed by Western countries and the closure of the Russian stock exchange. Foreign investors can no longer sell some of the titles.

Some of the funds invested have been frozen – new investors cannot buy, owners cannot sell – and unit prices will no longer be determined for the time being. The rating agency Fitch estimates that other managers could follow with further fund redemptions. Index providers like MSCI are considering removing Russia from their benchmarks. Russian securities

Deutsche Börse reacted to the sanctions imposed early on Monday. It suspended a total of 16 securities from trading. These include, in particular, the shares of VTB Bank, Sberbank, Rosneft, Gazprom, as well as bonds from Rosneft and Sberbank, among others. On Tuesday, the exchange announced that it would add 36 more securities and related certificates to the list.
