Slovakia agrees to supply MiG fighter jets to Ukraine

On the anniversary of the start of the war in Ukraine at the end of February, China presented a twelve-point plan for “a political solution to the Ukraine crisis”. Among other things, it calls for the protection of civilians and respect for mutual sovereignty. However, the two warring parties reacted cautiously.

The United States and NATO described Beijing’s mediation efforts as not credible. They point out that China, unlike the West, has not yet condemned Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. There is also concern in the US and Europe that the People’s Republic could supply weapons to Russia. Beijing has rejected this and in return criticized arms deliveries from the West to Ukraine. After the incident involving a US reconnaissance drone and Russian fighter jets a few days ago, China expressed concern that the war could intensify.
