Silvergate Bank, a leading bank in fintech and crypto money, announced that it will make a donation to Brink, a non-profit organization.

Silvergate Bank announced this new step with the following statements:
“As a token of our commitment to the digital currency community, we are pleased to share that we have pledged continued quarterly donations to Brink, a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting the Bitcoin community through developer scholarship and grant programs.
With this donation, Silvergate will support the open source development of BTC, including active Bitcoin developers and future engineering talents.”
Brink’s Executive Director had this to say about Silvergate Bank’s initiative:
“Brink is excited that Silvergate is our first partner to contribute on a recurring quarterly basis. These donations will help us ensure a sustainable Bitcoin open source development for years to come.”
Brink was founded in 2020 with donations from John Pfeffer and Wences Casares, according to the company’s statement.
Among the donors to the company are well-known names in the crypto money world. Cryptocurrency exchanges FTX, Coinbase and BtcTurk are among Brink’s sponsors.
